The founder and CEO of Benchmark, Mark Lacy has been selected as a finalist by Entrepreneur magazine as the Established Entrepreneur of 2010. Three more North Texas residents have died from complications involving Type A influenza, officials said Tuesday, as Tarrant County Public Health prepared to distribute the county’s first doses of H1N1 vaccine.

Angela Ward, 43, a Willow Park resident who was an educational aide at Mary Martin Elementary in Weatherford, died Monday after tests showed she had pneumonia and Type A influenza, school district officials said. Tests are being conducted to determine whether she had H1N1.

The Swine Flu is a respiratory disease caused by Type A influenza viruses regularly found in pigs. Although outbreaks of swine flu normally do not cause outbreaks in people, human-to-human transmission of the virus is possible. The swine influenza A (H1N1) virus that is currently being reported in the news is exactly this type of contagious human-to-human virus.
