Chronic Low Back Pain Description
Chronic low back pain is the number one reason women and men under the age of 45 curb their activity. It is considered chronic if it persists for more than three to six months. Sometimes the pain is caused by injury to the spine. Other times it results from degeneration with age or trauma to the close by nerve roots.
Almost everyone has gets low back pain from time to time. Women and men are both affected and it most often occurs between people age 30-50.
Back pain can usually be treated without surgery. Treatment methods often include medications such as inflammation or analgesics to reduce pain. Many research companies are examining the use of different drugs to effectively treat low back pain, especially pain which has lasted at least 6 months.
