High Blood Pressure

High Blood Pressure, often referred to as Hypertension, is often called the “silent killer” because it does not always cause symptoms. Most people with high blood pressure feel fine and only find out they have it during a routine exam. High blood pressure is defined as either mild, moderate, or severe. If it is severely high, it may cause headaches, visual disturbances, nausea and vomiting. Without treatment, it can cause major damage to vital organs, such as the heart, kidneys, or eyes.

Treatment for high blood pressure depends on the severity of the disease and whether you have other health problems, such as heart failure or diabetes, or you are pregnant.
