Benchmark Austin is centrally located at St. David's Hospital, a dominant medical complex adjacent to The University of Texas at Austin . U.T. is one of the largest universities in the U.S. , with a student population of over 50,000, ideal for recruiting. The physician spearheading research in Austin is Teresa (Tere) Coats, MD. Dr. Coats is board certified in Internal Medicine and has over 18 years of experience in serving the community as a practitioner and university professor. Dr. Coats also spearheads vaccine research at all Benchmark sites.

 

Dr. Coats has served as Benchmark Principal Investigator since 1998 and is supported by a vibrant and qualified team of sub investigators. Physicians Assistants Candice Scott, Michelle Honsinger and Staci Reece are closely involved in recruitment for and conduct of clinical trials directly from Dr. Coats' private practice (Central Austin Internists). Moreover, whenever medical oversight isappropriate or advisable, Drs. Robert Braun (Ob/Gyn) and Lawrence Chu (ENT) readily support clinical trials.

 

Benchmark has spent several years successfully promoting and conducting clinical trials in Austin , Texas.
