Mark Lacy co-founded and has served as president of Benchmark Research since 1997. A graduate of the
University of Texas at Austin (Plan II Program), Mark has spearheaded Benchmark from its inception, starting
with one site, one coordinator, and one protocol. With his leadership, Benchmark has purposely grown to 5 sites,
13 coordinators, and a support staff of 6. In 2002, the firm conducted more than 50 clinical research protocols.
Since those early years, corporate revenues greatly increased, as Benchmark became a highly respected
investigative site network in the clinical research industry. Within the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), Mark has been integrally involved with the Site Managers Forum, serving first on the
Steering Committee, and currently as Chairman.
